What We Do

Knowledge is power! So we believe that in order to empower ourselves and our neighbors we must constantly learn new skills. And for this reason, learning is a cornerstone value for our organization and what we are committed to providing for people of all ages.

Like so many neighborhoods in Detroit, ours has been devastated by decades of double digit unemployment and under-employment. Unemployment not only takes away much needed income from families, it also erodes self-confidence and a sense of emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

Central Detroit Christian Community Development offers adult and teen employment readiness programs that develop marketable skills for the most in-demand jobs, while also providing work opportunities through our neighborhood businesses.

Empowerment means employing our neighbors in local businesses and helping them reach their professional goals. It means providing affordable housing. It means restoring hope and building community equity. It means shalom, peace and wholeness.
