Our Mission ~ To help families to fulfill their home ownership needs through education, quality service and resource collaboration, ultimately, stabilizing one Family, one Community, one City at a time…. Making Michigan, once again, a thriving state to work, play and live.
Central Detroit Christian CDC is a HUD approved counseling agency under MSHDA (Michigan State Housing Development Authority) and approved as an Adopter of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Counseling and Foreclosure Intervention Counseling.
Our community has less than 40% of owner-occupied homes and because of the economic pressures in this community, CDC is addressing an immediate need through this service and has helped over 1000 families.
Our counselors maintain industry recognized certifications including NeighborWorks NCHEC certifications in Foreclosure Intervention, Home Ownership Counseling, and Financial Capabilities. We meet with families from the neighborhood and surrounding areas that require assistance. We offer customized group, online, and one-to-one education and counseling solutions.
CDC is addressing an immediate need through this service and has helped over 1,000 families.
We service homeowners experiencing problems:
- paying their property taxes
- paying their mortgage
- need money to fix up their homes
We may have possible solutions to assist with grants and 0% interest loans.
We also provide comprehensive home buyer education (HBE) in a group setting or self-paced learning online. Completion of home buyer education can make you eligible for down payment assistance, lower interest rate mortgage, free pre-purchase inspections and more. Classes are usually held the third Saturday of each month (excluding December) from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
After HBE you get additional one-on-one home ownership counseling throughout your entire purchase process.
