Cafe Sonshine
Bringing Business Back

Open Tuesday – Sunday from 12-8pm
CDC has birthed Café Sonshine and is in the process of selling the business to its managers, Darryl and Janine Terrell. Their commitment to excellence has catapulted the restaurant into an unforgettable dining experience. We are proud to partner with them to take it to the top. Café Sonshine is available for individual dining and also for catering events. Hiring Café Sonshine for your next event supports all the outreach activities of Central Detroit Christian CDC and the surrounding community.
In 2007, we acquired the commercial strip just across the street from our apartment building and office. The Freeze, our ice cream store relocated here and Mr. FoFo’s, a famous deli & soul food restaurant, the anchor tenant, had been under our management since 2008. Both of these businesses worked to provide excellent customer service and good quality food in a clean environment.
In February 2010, we temporarily closed the restaurants to evaluate and redevelop our business plan for this commercial venture. And in April 2010, we reopened as Cafe Sonshine. This family-friendly casual dining experience provides good quality and diabetic healthy options that will provide a healthy home-cooked option for residents in our community and beyond. Please join us to enjoy a great meal at an inexpensive price while supporting a great ministry.
