A Letter from the Executive Director
First we would like to extend a big thanks to everyone who has had a role in making CDC who it is today. Thanks to the many volunteers who gave countless hours to serving with CDC staff in programs and work projects.
Thanks to the staff that always gave 100% in advancing the mission and vision of CDC. Thanks to our financial donors who gave in record amounts this past year fitting yet another piece to the puzzle that makes up this organization.
Thanks to our Board of Directors who really understands and embraces who we are and provides great wisdom and oversight. Thanks to our great community that is embracing change and becoming more and more active in what we are doing. Finally, thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
In 21 years, we have come this far by faith….Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for , the conviction of things not seen. By faith we believed God would provide us with a building to centralize all of our programs and bring everything under one roof. By faith, we built out a Laundromat /Fitness center after hearing the felt needs of our neighborhood for several years. By faith we witnessed young men commit to learning about becoming a man from God’s perspective. God, in His loving kindness has stretched our faith beyond our wildest imagination. We all are truly grateful for what God does in and through us and are overwhelmed and humbled that He chooses to use us to do His work.
Our goals are ambitious in the upcoming year, and exciting. Please read through our annual report and celebrate our
past accomplishments with us while embracing what the future holds. Thanks for caring and having a part in the life of Central Detroit Christian CDC. On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, we are grateful, encouraged and hopeful for what 2016 holds for us.
Holding on to Hope,
Lisa E. Johanon
